Honeywell XNX XNX-AMSI-RHNNN – no sensor (transmitter body), IR, ATEX, 316SS, M25
XNX-AMSI-RHNNN is a Honeywell XNX IR-personality transmitter body, ATEX / IECEx (INMETRO on selected MPD SKUs), 4 × M25, 316 stainless steel, 3 relays + 4–20 mA HART, local HART port on the transmitter, no sensor. It is the junction-box electronics for Searchpoint Optima Plus or Searchline Excel—not an MPD catalytic transmitter.

Why this personality / sensor
Optima Plus (point IR) and Excel (open-path) need the IR personality board and a different wiring/power budget than MPD millivolt heads. Ordering an mV body and hoping to hang Excel later will fail at commissioning. This SKU keeps the transmitter certified while the IR head is specified on its own datasheet.
Personality and replaceable parts
XNX-AMSI-RHNNN uses the IR personality (Searchpoint Optima Plus / Searchline Excel) board and mates with Searchpoint Optima Plus point IR or Searchline Excel open-path IR. This SKU ships without a sensor; order the head by gas. Spares live on product-3991. Do not substitute Sensepoint XCD cartridges on XNX.
Typical applications
Use IR bodies on tank-farm open-path runs, compressor-hall Optima points, and LNG boil-off galleries where the path length or window kit is sized after the transmitter is already on the pipe stand.

Installation and wiring
Wall-mount XNX-AMSI-RHNNN (316 stainless steel, approx. 5.0 kg) on a rigid stand sized for that mass. This SKU uses 4 × M25 entries—glands must match; do not retap XNX-AMSI-RHNNN. Land XNX-AMSI-RHNNN 4–20 mA HART per the loop drawing; relays/Modbus/FFB exist only on the matching option board. Magnetic-wand menus on the XNX-AMSI-RHNNN lid stay non-intrusive. XNX-AMSI-RHNNN is a body: wall-mount the transmitter first and mate the head after the personality is confirmed—do not buy a configured SKU until the gas is frozen.
FAQ
- Can I add an MPD sensor to XNX-AMSI-RHNNN later?
- XNX-AMSI-RHNNN ships as a transmitter body. mV personalities accept MPD CB1/IV1/IF1/IC1 heads; IR personalities need Optima/Excel; EC personalities need XNX electrochemical cells. Do not mix those three families on this board.
- Is XNX-AMSI-RHNNN a complete gas detector?
- No. XNX-AMSI-RHNNN is electronics and enclosure only. A configured detector has a three-character sensor code such as CB1 instead of NNN.
- Why is XNX-AMSI-RHNNN 316SS instead of aluminium?
- XNX-AMSI-RHNNN is the marine/sour-service body (~5 kg). Inland dry rooms can take aluminium sibling XNX-AMAI-RHNNN and save mass on the bracket.
- Can I convert XNX-AMSI-RHNNN from ATEX M25 to NPT in the field?
- No. XNX-AMSI-RHNNN flameproof entries are machined M25. North-American NPT is UL sibling XNX-UTSI-RHNNN, not an adaptor on this ATEX body.
- What do the three relays on XNX-AMSI-RHNNN do?
- XNX-AMSI-RHNNN adds three configurable relays on top of 4–20 mA HART—typically A1/A2/fault. It is not Modbus; bus siblings are XNX-AMSI-MHNNN / XNX-AMSI-FHNNN.
